Hey guys! Dvij and Verrel here, back at it again, this time with a collaboration post! As you know, we love a bit of philosophy on this blog, so we decided to treat you guys to an absolute banger: how to live life to the fullest.

You’ve likely heard of the acronym YOLO (You Only Live Once). Although you’ve probably screamed this before doing something completely stupid, it actually contains more wisdom than you might have originally thought. You see, you only get 1 chance at life, and what you do with it is entirely up to you. So what can you do to live it to the fullest?

Seek out as many (new) experiences as you can.

Have you ever resisted doing something, finally did it anyways, and ended up enjoying it? It’s kinda like going to a theme park – there’s that one ride that you dread going on, but you’re forced on to it by a family member, and by the end of it you’re longing for another go (our best shot at an analogy). Many things in life work the same way; it’s up to you to get on that ride. Whether that’s asking out your crush, starting a blog, or taking a gap year, the most rewarding experiences start with taking a risk. All rides have ups and downs (unless that ride is the lazy river of course) and you need both for a thrilling adventure. So don’t be afraid to go outside your comfort zone. You never know what you’ll get until you try.

Embrace new relationships.

Everyone you meet has their own story to tell. Each person leaves a mark on your personality and beliefs, whether they reinforce or change them.  From your physics professor at university to your 5-year old cousin, everyone can bring a new dimension to your life. It all starts with establishing those relationships. That being said, it can be tough to start talking to someone you’ve never spoken a word to. You’re not alone, though; everyone wants to make new friends, but everyone’s scared of starting that first conversation too. Be the first person to say ‘hi!’ to someone and ask about their favourite blog or whatever. You never know, they might become your next best friend or future spouse one day.

Be yourself.

No one knows you better than you. Sure, your goals and desires might change as you gain more experiences, but only you ever know what’s best for you. Respect everyone’s opinions, take them into consideration, but don’t follow them blindly. Trust your own intuition. After all, this is your life to live.

Accept and learn from the past and look to the future.

We all have the tendency to dwell on bad experiences from the past, even though we know that we can never change them. Regardless of how much time we spend imagining what could have been, life goes on. As hard as it may be, we need to accept the past and learn from it. The beauty of life is that we don’t know what is to come. So why not be excited about tomorrow, instead of worrying about yesterday?

Let it go.

Document your experiences.

You know that warm feeling when you sit down with your family and look at nostalgic photos from years ago? It’s always amazing to see how you’ve grown and matured over time. In the same way, documenting your experiences can be a great way to see how much progress you’ve made on a goal. This can be taking a picture, writing a journal entry, or even starting a blog (lol). Recording your journey will give you a new appreciation for the effort you put in, the people you worked with, and the time it all took. And one day, when you need the motivation most, you’ll have your own journey to look back on.

And that’s all from us for this week! We really hope you enjoyed this one. Let us know what you think in the comments section below and who you would like to see collaborating next!
